I just want to give a huge shout out to Dan Gord at Birchington Medical Centre!! I took my son Jack to see him at 4:45pm tonight. Jack was in quite a distressing state with his asthma ~ continuously coughing and suffering with a bad viral infection and vomiting all afternoon. Jack throw up in his room and Dan was sooo supportive and understanding, he even cleaned up the vomit!! He did a thorough examination of Jack, really praised me for bringing Jack in and not delaying getting Jack seen!!! No professional has ever told me that before him.. Steriods & antibiotics prescribed, Within an hour of taking his steriods - Jack's severe asthmatic cough has STOP!! And in turn Jack's tummy has stopped continously being worked to cough and he has stopped being sick too!!

I have been with Birchington Medical Centre for many years and have found them very helpful. The doctors I have seen are very caring. I have recently seen Dr Ben Casey and Dan Gord and I am very grateful for the care and attention they have given. The only down side is the long wait at reception on occasions when receptionists are tied up with phone calls. The reception stall are helpful.

My husband and I joined this health centre when we moved here almost 7 years ago and have been impressed by the level of care shown by all the doctors and nurses in the practice. As in any busy surgery, there are times when a less-urgent appointment cannot be arranged immediately, but staff do their best to fit in a visit, and if there is any cancellation and an appointment becomes available, reception staff have always phoned back promptly. They have also passed on any requests for advice from a doctor or nurse regarding prescriptions. We have both been impressed by the quality of care that we have received. Thank you!

I phoned the surgery after being off for one week and visited two hospitals for tests etc. I was given tablets from the hospital and have been taking other pain killers also. I phoned the surgery to get an appointment to discuss my continuous symptoms abd ti ask for further treatment and a doctors note. I waited ages to even speak to someone and when I finally did, I was greeted with a receptionist that couldnt find in my notes what tablets I had been given so was reluctant to give me an appointment...I went through questions after questions..she even had a go at diagnosing! What side of the chest shes says, what pain have you got now she said...what do you want a doctor to do she said!...In the end I said i didnt know what the problem was as I just want an appointment to see a doctor. She put me on hold, then came back with one word answers."3.15" Sorry, what was that? The attitude was horrendous.I said can I not see a doctor please" No,they have all gone now she said...There were appointments before but now there isnt because i questioned her why i was going through a complete run down of why i want to see a doctors and a diagnosis! I feel 10 times worse getting off the phone to her! Birchington Surgery is blooming awful!
